Cat drive motors
Does anyone know how to rebuild or get parts for a drive motor? My 267 track skid steer has a drive motor that is leaking. It still has full driving power and the machine tracks straight so I don't think its bad. I'm really hoping its just a hose since dirt and grime builds up behind the motors and has a tendency to wear holes in the hoses. I did a quick search online last night and all I came up with was new and reman drive motors and they were far from cheap. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks

I'd say buy a shop manual and tear into it, but I just checked e-bay and they start at about $600

Well after fighting with this damn machine I got the final drive out of it. Talked to a friend of mine and he just happened to have the same issue on his 257. Fortunately he found a guy who can rebuild these things so hopefully the bill isn't too bad. From all the research I've done I believe it just needs a seal kit which is a heck of a lot better than buying final drives. Now I just need to find a good degreaser. Never had a chance to clean it and its really bad especially after the hydraulic oil was blown all over. Any suggestions on degreasers guys?
