In my area if there is a set of casement windows. It is assumed they will open inside out.
Is this the same in your areas and what is the theory.
Probably a dumb question?

Are you talking about the hinge location? If that is what you mean then with a set of twin casements we will put the hinges on the outside edges so that the windows closes to the meeting point between the two windows. I dont think we ever had a customer ask for the hinges to be at the middle.

I don't know if I'm reading this right, but hinge location is probably determined by the strongest point of the unit,which would be next to the nailing flange.

Casement windows are designed to "scoop" moving air into the building for ventilation. You should only have one side open at a time. They put the hinges on the outsides to give the hinge side of the unit more strength. Hope that helps.
