I'll be changing the color of the interior I will be painting. The baseboards will need to be painted as well. My question today is: How to paint where carpet is present and still make the baseboards look good?

Thanks,
Rick

Put 2"-3" masking tape along the floor. If you tuck it just under the baseboards you'll be fine.

One of my guys started using old plastic vertical blinds, now they all do it. Faster and cheaper than tape.

I like the venetian blind idea. Just yesterday I pulled apart an old metal blind with 2 1/2 " slats - should be good for a while. Do you move it along as you go or fit out the whole room at once and leave them there til dry? Whichever way, it's best to vacuum beforehand to get rid of all the carpet fuzz and dustballs - yeeeck!

Most verticals tend to be long, 7-8 ft. and you usually get quite a few of them. The guys just leave them there until the paint dries.
Find someone in the window treatment business and ask them to save some for you.
