I have had my c-29 and had a dba for that. Then I recently went ahead and got my general B license and filed a company name for it.
both the dba were very basic (ie my Last Name..masonry construction, Last NameConstruction)
I would like to have a company name for just Masonry jobs that does not have my last name in it, and my standard LAst Name Construction for small general contracting jobs. My questions is since both contractor lic clasifications came with the same Lic number, can I file two totally different DBA's?

Good question. I am actually wondering the same thing. I thought I could expand my chances of getting business by placing various types of ads with various business names online. I really don't think we can do that, but I'm sure someone here could tell us.

Hello vtamason,

Welcome to CT.

No, you can't use two different biz names in CA for one license other than what you have on file with the CSLB. LastName Construction dba: FirstName Masonry (for example) would be your only option.
