What is the proper way to finish a block wall...I have a friend who was told he can glue ridged foam to the wall and then glue drywall to that...

My idea was 3/4 foam...then strap it and fill with more ridged foam...I guess that could be expensiv

Ive put bonding agent on the wall with a paint roller and did a brown coat of durabond making sure I filled the grout areas real good and another 2 coats of durabond along with another coat of lightweight and the walls came out great. You can install mud on cornerbeads to make the corners look sharper. Another product is American Clay Plaster it is a clay plaster that is troweled on the block walls. The clay plaster has the paint colors added to it so its like eliminating the painting scope to some degree
