Do you guys include the sales tax in your bids/quotes?
or just add it when you bill ?

I include the total cost of the job in the quote including tax. No suprises at the end for the customer.
If we don't get a tax exempt certificate, we add the tax on the materials and rentals (that we pay our vendors) into the estimate. Regardless, we have a blurb in our estimates that says the price is exclusive of any tax, and that any required taxes will be added to the invoice.
you dont add sales tax to your quotes.. you recoop the tax, unless you retail items, then you are subject to showing your customer sales tax on recipe...

every state is dif.. for the majority sales tax is included in your quote. check with your state rev department for details.
