I've got a Dell Inspiron laptop and the battery is pretty much shot. I don't use it too often without AC power but need to replace the battery for those few times I am without AC.
I went to the Dell website and all their batteries for this model get terrible reviews.
Anyone got a reliable source for decent batteries?

have I got news for you...my OE battery crapped out after a year or so and I found an extended capacity battery in some ebay store. Not sure, my OE battery may have been a 6 cell and the new one a 12 cell, but I use it for 3-4hrs now and for the occasional use may not charge it for 2 weeks (not a heavy user).

Yeah, I would recommend just going through ebay. They are cheaper and a better buy if you use your laptop a lot.

Try configuring your battery settings for optimal battery length. Also try to keep your machine unplugged from AC power for periods. If you keep it plugged in all day long, it eventually won't be able to hold a charge.
