$20 outside corner. Vinyl shouldn't be restricted by a corner from expansion and contraction

 

That's exactly what I said when I seen it. Was told outside corners don't look good (with a lot of profanity not those nice words) but rather the bend where you see the white bend mark looks better.

 

I try to stay away from vinyl siding, not a good product in this part of the country. I take it you are talking about maybe bending in a brake and continuing on around the cornor. Have not ever done it with vinyl , but do it all the time with steel. But seeing how they make vinyl trim coil really don't see why it can't be done. I would make sure it is warm when doing though.

 

That's the exact method, bend why vinyl with a brake just like bending aluminum. You need to make sure it's not freezing cold or it will snap, and if it's cold you gotta do it slowly.

 

We do a couple vinyl jobs a year here. Never done vertical. Would never think of trying to bend it into a corner. Like JLS said, expansion and contraction. And I'd guess it doesn't look too good anyway...

 

I *suppose* you *could* bend it if it's vertical, but no...don't.

 

Medium to Darker colors will turn white at the bend line. Just use a corner post...it's what they are for. Fyi no such thing as a bad question...always better to ask before then after.

Yes. Once on my own house Board & Batten, Worked slick and I got real lucky when I got to the other corner the outside reveals were real close- howwever the remaining two corners did not land well.

No problem with expansion & contraction.

 

I did one of my sheds a few years ago that way as an experiment more than anything (white vinyl). It is holding up fine and looks good It was a warm spring day and I just bent it in my brake. We get extreme weather here 30C (90F+) to -40C (-40F) so I would say there is lots of movement in that vinyl. It has never cracked in the corners!!!
