Back flush toilets

Do all back flush toilets have a standard rough in ht. above the finished floor. Are there any good reasons to stay away from them? We are doing a rehab on a house and would like to add a bathroom. There is a heating duct in the way of a bottom drain. One of the guys came up with the idea for a back flush, I think it will work but never seen one.

Very few style and color choices. They also cost more in general. We took a couple out of a house recently and the plumber advised against installing a new one.
There's not really nothing wrong with them. I have installed probably close to 100 of the things. I prefer a concealed system setup on them though. They ain't very common here in the US though.
Duravit has several style options, but not many color options.
