It will take these guys longer to set up and tear down than to remove the carpet and 9x9 Asbestos floor tiles.

Set up this morning & part of the afternoon. Begin abatement, air test and tear down complete by Thursday afternoon.

FYI, about ten grand for this little caper.

Its amazing. We had about 30 square feet of a sheet floor removed. Some of it was under a tile floor (they were the smart ones, just go right over it), about $5k and one long day. Only about 2 hours to actually remove the floor. 8 hrs to set up and clean up.

That's nuts. I can see having specific guidelines on removal of asbestos but the lengths they need to go for abatement are way overboard.

To get some asbestos or lead out of your house you need to drop 20k but think about all the toxic crap being sold to consumers in food and household products.

Asbestos and lead are pretty well understood natural materials and shouldn't cost 10's of thousands to remove them safely
