Another wonderful basement floor job. I lifted the carpet squares to find 9x9 asbestos and a drainage trench across the center of the floor. Scraping off the "leveler", and it turned out to b joint compound that was used to feather a crown of concrete. Chipping hammer time.
Edit: light chipping on the crown only, plus scraping out the mud.

It's not getting touched. Just taking down the concrete hump, and the joint compound comes off the surface easy. Then ecoprimgrip primer, since the toes are stuck down real good.

I just had a wonderful bonding experience with EcoPrim Grip.

Get it?

Seriously though. It's a great primer, the only downside is that it leaves a hell of a burr on my trowel. About 5 minutes after I warned my helper about the burr he managed to cut the hell out of his finger on it.
