Hey everyone,
I live in California and have seen these for years, but never have figured out what these are...

They are almost leaf shaped and have a thing that comes out of one end that they use to pull themselves across the floor or walls.

I don't think they are a nuisance although they pop up every once in a while.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Hi Celtic,
Thank you for the reply...I don't think they are slugs, however. I have a bit of experience with slugs being from the Pacific NW...these ones are flat and do not have they typical slime coating...they are some other type of insect, but I just have no idea what they are. There are enough that get inside that I would like to control them if I can figure out what they are.

Thank you again,
David

Ugly.
Slug ugly.
Sprinkle some salt on them.
If you want to be really humane,
leave a saucer of beer....
they can die happy.

They look like a type of Case Moth, these crawl along by sticking there head out and grabbing the floor and pulling thereselves along.
They can also climb walls like this.
