Anyone ever make an ad banner before?

I have 4 to make, and I understand that clicking the banner is supposed to get you to a web site, but man, how do you make one? Are all web graphics packages the same? Will each package make sure the banner is properly created? I'm feeling my age today.

BTW, I purchased a package called Zara Xtreme 5.0. It has good reviews, but God strike me down if I told you I knew what I was doing. My backup plan is Getafreelancer.

Wow, that brings back memories. I used to make them all the time about 10 years ago.

I think back then the software was something called Microsoft composer or something, I think it was packaged with Frontpage98 (that's 1998) LOL. Along with Composer it had something called Gif animator or something. I used to use that all the time back then to make animated banner ads.

Memories....

Using Microsoft Frontpage Express, here is the simple step by step...
Click Insert
Point to Component
Click Banner Ad
For each picture you want to display, click add and select the picture
Use transition effects
To create a link simply click the link to box and type in where you want it to go.

There may be similar commands in Zara Extreme. Click help or (PRESS F1) in the program and in the index type in "banner" it should give you a step by step.

PS: I taught myself HTML in Windows Notepad. Much easier with an HTML PROGRAM. But real nice when you know how things work.

I used to (and still do) create websites. You can Google banner maker and find a lot of free online tools to make a banner. They are all very easy to use, but most may have a small link back to their site some where on the banner.

If you go to Xara's home page>downloads>movies, they have some tutorials for the beginner using this program. I have not used Xara, so I can't be specific.

If you get stuck, email me and I will try to help you.
Their are plenty of free banner sites online...just google it...
