Mason wants to know the required clearance at the back for this insert. Manual for stove does not say. Stove dealer only says the thing is made to fit in a wood burning masonry fireplace. If that is the case than I think we need 8" of masonry behind this unit. Hoping for less. Going to talk to building inspector Monday. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Word is has to be 8" in back just like masonry fireplace. Of course Rais is coming out with a zero clearance firebox specifically for this stove and new construction in September. Going to be a little late for this job.
