The adhesive is just like any other glue and can be tempermental. The walls need to be clean and free from oils dirt ect. There is a good chance that the moisture from the adhesive will loosen the wall paper and over time the panel could come off. Wich leads me to the next point if that does happen it leaves you nothing to stand on with the home owner or the manufactuer. Even in the case were there was a defect in product. Try and take off the paper.
