Im all over this
Concrete work is easy you know, no doubt clean the mixer on your own time.
I dont have a mixer, but I would allow him to clock me out while I mix it by hand with a shovel and wheelbarrow, then once I have it all mixed he could clock me back in.

The ultimate revenge for a guy like that would be to form it up, tell him to order 10 yards for delivery at 7am the next morning, and then not show up. Ohh, and make sure they put some accelerator in the concrete......

ELECTRICAL - CENTRAL NJ

2 pendant light fixtures to be hung. 6 can lights to be installed. Need hole saw for cutting into ceiling. Need to know how to patch drywall and have drywall patching materials. Paying $75.00. Are you interested?
I'm keeping an eye on these ads. Yesterday I twisted my back. I might have to take one of these uncontracted HO cheapo jobs. Get their homeowners insurance to pay the docs bills rather than my workmans comp. I'll lift one bag of cement than fall down and lay there screaming for an ambulance. Then they can see how much money they saved...

Haven't we explained to you enough times how to price a job properly! :furious:

j/k
Man some people just don't have a clue what is a fair price to pay for such work. I see crap like that on CL all the time and it just gets under my skin.

I also can't stand to see the guys post ads on CL looking for work that will work for terribly low rates.

I did a job for some longtime friends of mine who are probably among the most frugal people on the planet. They're also picky on top of that. I did their whole house in bamboo flooring for a mere 600 bucks. I gave them the deal of lifetime and told them that. Now they want me to paint the whole thing, ceilings, walls and trim for 1000. Not happening, the killer deals are over. I'll give a little friendly discount, but the work for nearly nothing deals are over.

What a tool.....and some other tool will call him...sausage fest will ensue....until one party realizes they are being raped.

Since he's available 24/7...feel free to call him anytime with your electrical questions.
I emailed her told her she'd never find anyone willing to do it for that price.
Yes she will. It just won't be an electrician.

And she will hire him anyway.

and then when he fudges it up, that's when it's our turn, at the proper rate.

...coupled with cost to repair his shoddy job...it'll remain fudged until the home gets sold.
I think I met the poster of that Craigslist ad, or maybe his brother.

Guy wants 3,000 sq. ft. of Hypnum Moss lawn for a shaded garden.

Moss: $56,000 for sheet Hypnum
Site prep: $3,800
Labor to install moss: $14,500
Total:$74,300

Fairly reasonable for the amount of work involved. He called me and asked if I could order the moss for him at my cost, finance it, and deliver it. He wants to put an ad on CL and hire 2 laborers at $8.00/hour to put it in. So he wants me to just bring him the moss and not make any money whatsoever on this deal.

How friggin cheap do you have to be to gamble $56,000 worth of product dying on a half ass install to save a few bucks?

He did pay for the estimate though. So he's not a total tool.
