Looks like the Azek is going to be the nicest thing on that building.

WAY to high for me BTW.
I agree, for now the Azek is, but the front of the building has been refurbished and after the roof, all the windows and doors will get redone as well as repointing the brick.

When you build a deck out of Azek , how much do you space the flooring? I am going to do one tomorrow and the salesman told me 1/4" Sounds like alot to me.
I prefer 1/4" with all vinyl or composite decking. Dirt has a way of filling smaller spaces and women in stiletto heels don't belong on a deck, although they are welcome in any other room of my house.

Here is a pic of the front elevation. Built in 1906, the tin cornice was in great condition. The mortar was ground back and completely repointed. We restructured the cornice while we were on the roof.
Also, a pic of the dado routed into the fascia to receive the Azek soffit board.

Hey Lone, that on High Street? I see the Glasstown Arts District banner on the pole. How's that area doing now? I know they were trying like crazy to "revitalize" that area, but with the recession most people just aren't spending their money on artsy fartsy stuff. I was up at Thunderbolt for the ARCA weekend, good times.

Yup, 100 block of High Street. A few shops have closed due to the economy, but the racetrack has been drawing nice crowds. The restaurant we're working on had a good weekend due to the track. Did you get a chance to hit the carting track? That's some fun right there.

so you are just doing the facia correct?
We restructured the roof from underneath, rolled the old roofing off and resheathed the roof, ran out the Azek, removed the old window frames and jambed the openings out and now we are stretching the faux windows over the Advantech to dress up the walls.

so your saying you azeked the roof?
Nah, I tried to sell him on it but.... I didn't lay the shingles. I took a week off to help my mom get her affairs in order while the roofers did their thing.

whew.. that is what I thought you were talking about
Nah, just the gigundo fascia, I think it ended up at 16" wide overall. 1x12 down low with a 5/4x8 stacked on it leaving a 9" reveal at the bottom.
My local yard stocks 1x16s, 18'ers. They're nice.

I take it you've done the carts? That's definitely on my to-do list, as well as getting a car set up to run on the Thunderbolt course. I joined the SCCA and they have all sorts of different classes that race there.

The painter is a one man show. Dennis something. It's a long Italian name, but i can't think of it right now.
One of those banners would look nice over my workbench in my garage.:shifty:
