I realize that Warren,,......

And yes he spent a lot of time on it......., I guess it's something he enjoys doing...what's wrong with that.....?

All I am saying is I can appreciate his ingenuity ....the creativity......

What a negative group we have!......

I made my own saw rip station/combo router table....combo miter saw.......station........

Works great ,......and I enjoyed figuring it out and putting it together.....

Just saying......

Trust me Brian, I am all about ingenuity. But this is far from ingenious. He basically reinvented the table saw, but he did it uneconomically, with no regard for safety, underpowered, etc. How exactly is that ingenious?

I've seen lots of his videos. He definitely has time on his hands. Check out his wooden band saw and jointer.
You can pick up a more useful 10" table saw on craigslist for $100.
But I guess he likes to tinker...

Holy crap......

Tom,
My meaning behind that is in reference to a "portable stand"........I just want it to hold up my material. Maybe I came off the wrong way...if I did - I apologize..

I did like some of the ideas that some came up with- TBF's stand is cool....
But I wouldn't bother with it.....nothing personal.....JMPOV...

Anyways.....

Here's my invention.....:http://youtu.be/MqCr_9spqbE

Part 2 :http://youtu.be/ItpzT11GQTk

Nothing wrong with being creative.......;)

Am I being "unsafe".....

It's not something we would do...or use .......I realize that....it's not meant for production....

I guess I just like how he turned that saw into a table saw.....all the little problems he had to solve along the way.....

Basically - "winging it".....

I am glad you understand "why" I posted this rustbucket....;)

Thank you,

Now that is cool and ingenious!
You made something that can't be duplicated. The guy in your earlier video made something that can be easily bested with minimal investment. His had some safety concerns I am sure. I never said that anything you built was unsafe. Not sure how you read that:eek:

Someday I will have to start my own thread about very simple jigs, props, braces, etc that we build on site. Most are not overly clever, but they do save time, improve safety, and make money. I do appreciate people who think outside the box and problem solve. I just appreciate it more when their is the possibility of a financial payback.

Most of my crazy "inventions" are shot down at the jobsite by the guys that I work with. Probably for good reasons usually. Occasionally, an idea or two makes it past the machine gun barrage of negativity and sticks in my mind for a few days. If it wasn't for the lack of peer support, I would probably be rich by now!

Or perhaps broke.

I have had failures......the "what was I thinking"......

I had a smaller station I built......cables......absolutely "wrong " in every way......

I posted a videos of it up here ,just can't seem to find it.....:whistling...

But ""from that- "failure"" your next invention becomes better......

Trial & error....IMO .

He is pretty ingenious , my hat goes off to him

What I really like about his Mortiser is it's small.....doesn't start sucking space up in the shop....

Way cool IMO....well done!
