Please Read, we are a family of 5 that is about to lose EVERYTHING.

Dear Neighbor,
I am an out of work Printer who has always made six figures. I am looking to keep gas in the car and keep my home. Unemployment, savings and public assistance has run out and I need to find any work. I can build, finish, paint, carpet, tile, repair, clean, shovel, rake, move, construct, manage, plan, wire, and plum just about anything. I have tools and great knowledge on how to do just about anything. I will never take money up front and I am very trust worthy. We live on Beech Branch Dr in Foxboro subdivision in Irmo.

If you have even an hour worth of work I hope you call. If you have a room to be painted, windows to clean, a yard to rake/mow, a basement to finish, a load of laundry to do, several small item around the house to repair, auto repair, or anything at all. No job too small. Please call if you have anything at all. Asking for help is the hardest thing I ever had to do but without your help we will fail. I am not asking for anything I do not want to work for. Willing to do work or just about anything for $10.00/HR.
Please call also if you know where I can find steady work. I have my MBA and clean up nice when not doing drywall or painting.

We are a family of 5 that is less than a month from losing our home with no where to go. Power bill is past due, water has not been paid and gas for the car is very hard to come by. We have little food and in need of just about everything. I can be paid with old can goods or anything to feed the family. If you are out of work and in the same sinking ship and you need something done, than please call. I will work for free to help you. I can be called 24hrs/day if you have an emergency.

Home Improvement / Lawn Care ($10.00/hr or food for anything)

The saddest part about this is!

How many of us know people that are very close to this situation and are afraid to ask for help the way this guy has?

There are a LOT of people in this situation and worse. It's scary and it's too bad, I wonder often how long it's going to take to dig out of this.

Just heard today (don't remember where, but I'm sure it can be googled), as of right now there are 3,000,000 mortgages nation-wide that are 90+ days delinquent at this point, and most of them will end up in foreclosure....

That's a lot of hurt coming down the pike.

At least they can afford the internet huh?
Many possible explanations for this.
He could be using wireless technology.
Free internet at libraries and bookstores.
Friends computer.

Are things getting that bad in SC?
I thought that area was growing, was the place to go a few years back.

He doesn't have any gas so, he isn't driving anywhere.

Great, it's so hard he still has his iphone for internet, poor guy.

I'll give you the friends computer but, that would get old after a while.

I can think of a million differnt things I would do for 10 bucks an hour, besides be someone's slave.

Pretty sure they could have found a job while they were getting their years worth of unemployment.

Sorry, no pity.

I personally haven't had but 3 calls on the remodeling side of my business since June. 2 of those have been tire kickers, the other one was from one of CT's members that is trying to shoot some work my way. I still have income from the maintenance side of my business but there is no growth there.

That made for a good 1,000th post!
I noticed that after the fact, kinda sucks don't it.
I commend the guy to be willing to work at whatever to keep afloat...unless it's a scam of course :whistling

But seriously, as much as I like to make fun, and whether or not this example is for real or not, they're are just too many people in horrible situations, some self-caused, others not...to not have some pity/empathy/sympathy or whatever.

I've seen plenty up close and personal to not realize many people are screwed through no fault of their own.

and no, I'm not one of them....yet :shifty:

It all comes down to decisions. Sometimes we make good ones, sometimes we make bad ones. I actually do have some sympathy for the guy. I mean seriously, he's offering to work for food to feed his family. There is something in that.

I wonder about some of the people in this world that wouldn't have sympathy. What would happen if they actually got in a bad situation? Would they be able to climb out of it easily and not lose anything?

You have 10's of thousands in tools you could pawn off.

All I am saying, is I know a person can find a crappy, yet fairly easy, job for 10 bucks a hour.

Why did they wait soooo long?

If **** started going south for me, you bet I would find away to make some money and not wait till there was no hope.

Look I am sorry that he has fallen on hard times, but if he was making six figures and he is about to lose everything he more than likely was living past his means.
could be...could be lots of things, but regardless if he is deserving of any sympathy, there are hundreds of thousands, maybe millions who are.

How many people aged 60-65 were getting set to retire and their retirement accounts took a 40% nosedive...yeah, it's their fault for not diversifying before that age I guess, but I think if you do some reading you'll find plenty of people who didn't put themselves in a bad position before this and the circumstances have royally fvkd them....just my opinion.

...and once this guy gets some groceries, I'm reportin' him to the bbb :w00t:
The biggest point I can come up with concerning this isn't even about this guy. I mean he is one of millions. How far are we going to allow it to go as a people? American corporations have sent all the jobs overseas. Outsourced even telecommunications overseas. The government allows it. Our people are losing everything and all they can think about is "Global Economy".

I say send someone, anyone you may know in this situation some canned food, Spare them a few bucks, Give them a part time job. Do something for someone who needs it.

We need to stick with our own right now and stop worrying about the rest of the world or how much more we can put in our bank accounts.

In the Depression people took care of their neighbors, helped out the guy selling apples on the corner. Whos helping anyone now?

Was not that long ago we were all working for people spending funny money like crazy.
This guy fits the mold of a good client not too long ago. Bet he had some work done on that house that is headed back to the bank.

I can find some good thoughts for him. We don't need more hackish competition though.
