HI

My A/C compressor will work for days and pop a fuse. I'll put a new fuse in.
And it will again. Is my compressor Going out or what?

Have you cleaned the condenser coils? Is there any loose/burnt wiring to the contactor, capacitor(s), or compresser? What is the amp draw on the compresser at start-up and during the run cycle vs. the data plate ratings? If you haven't had the unit serviced in awhile, this sounds like a good time to have it checked as it may be a minor problem that if caught early, would keep it from being a BIG ($$$$) problem. Good luck.

Have an electrician come in and check all of your electrical connections. A loose connection will generate heat, cause excessive current draw and can cause a fuse to blow. I've seen this on old houses with knob and tube wiring as well as new houses where the circuit breaker will trip.
