The thread about being video taped while working got me to think.

How do you feel when you are in someones home working with the owner there watching you?

I would say about 95% of my work done there is now home owners there.
Buit i have a job coming up that the owner is taking time off from work to be at home while im there.
Now im not sure if he will be standing at my back watching, but i guess there is also the trust issue the owners have i guess??

How do you if you do, respond to a owner if they are hanging around to much? you know with out sounding like a prick....

Most of the time the HO's arent around though I've had a few who planted themselves in a chair for the day. Depending on the relationship with the HO, I usually tell them I dont mind if they dont mind hearing things they might not of heard before and possibly smelling things they havent smelled before. A funny thing another contractor showed me was that he carried an aerosol can of lacquer and would spray it in the air a few times like an air freshener....apparently the customers wouldnt stick around.

It don't bother me at all when they watch. What I do fear is that we all on occasion do an oops (mistake). An oops that is easily and quickly fixed and undetectable. But when the HO sees this oops they panic and even a 100% perfect fix is not good enough for them.

HA!
No, I'm sorry to say I don't remember you posting that...

and no, I'm not too young. Already hit that 50 mark, and it's been hitting me back ever since.

I think anyone that's ever dumped a 5 (me, only once..thank God) knows that "HOLY SHEET" feeling.

Luckily mine came when no one was home watching... I stepped down on the rim of it, while coming off a step ladder.

I have one customer who is a great and appreciative person but he works from home and has (most of the time) nothing better to do. One project of his we added a large living room to his home, he would follow us around with a broom and dustpan! I started calling him Hazel. That was about 3 yrs ago, I was back the other day to do some crown and he asked me what it was that I used to call him. LOL He talked to me today to ask if I had a couple of days coming up that I could do a shower for him. I just grin and bare it.

Once we turn up the radio they usually don't stick around....Tool is good **** repellant. Seriously if they stay out of the way and don't keep asking questions its not a problem. But its rare that they don't do one or both. When they ask me where they'd be out of the way I usually say "Well we're hanging everything but the floor......"
