I've been thinking as I always do. A great way to decrease your advertising budget would be to hire a sales force of outside sales reps who go door to door or some how create their own leads.

What are your thoughts about this? What do you think the chances would be of finding 2 or 3 guys willing to find their own leads and work them. Also What type of compensation would you think they would deserve?

I would say they deserve 10% of the job. But that totally depends on what they are selling and what other overhead you have.

Any other thoughts?

I can say for major home improvements 10% is the norm if the lead is supplied and 20% would be the norm if the sales guy provides the lead.

This is for the Chicago area. I'd be happy to pay 25-35% of the job profits and would prefer to pay based on job profit rather than off the top commission.

ye maybe 10% off the final job if confirmation, or even per lead if they generate alot, maybe set price per lead regardless of if it turns into sale...
