I picked up a dip tube from my supply house (Rheem distributor) and it did not fit within the A.O. smith model. Are the dip tubes brand specific, or is there something I am missing..
never had to replace a dip tube....15 years as a plumber.....seen some old ones where it broke down into little pieces that went into faucet aerators....
id say you have a 50% chance they are the same.......
AO Smith really makes a crappy waterheater....id just replace it
i refuse to install AO Smiths because i see so many 6 year old ones leaking
No, it's not mine. Just replaced the w/h because lack of hot water. This tube was about 24" long. Tank was in decent order as was the valve. Flush out the sediment good and should be good for a spell. There's always some broke cat who could put it to use.
