The doors are just in primer right now, like the TV cabinets were in the first post. They will be painted "Navajo White" which is the same off white tint as the door frame

Nice stove!!

Soap stone counters?

I don't get the mix of old styles with those kinds of doors with the frosted/etched glass.

Yea, that stove cost almost as much as my truck

Yep, soap stone tops

I dont get ANY of it haha, it was all done by an interior decorator, doing her first kitchen. Every little detail. We generally would have done alot of things different, but in the end, it all worked out great, I cant wait to see it when all the construction is done and everythings cleaned out.

She loves her lights, theres a light in the ceiling every 2 or 3 feet as you can see (between every exposed beam) and they are all taped flush into the ceiling (how many sheetrockers does it take to change a lightbulb?) Theres lights on the inside of the hutch and the upper cabinets. Theres lighting in the toe kick on the island, theres lighting around the top of the columns (They will be getting 2" of stone where the durarock is) There will be lighting under the bar on the island. I want to walk around it at night, its going to look like a runway strip.

Very nice!

I've never seen the under base cabinet lighting....
it's amazing how designers spend people's money....

I have respect for their vision, but sometimes....I spent last year working on the ugliest house ever. The home owners were ecstatic, so it is what it is. I'd have to see the lighting in person, but as far as I can tell, the craftsmanship is stellar!

I agree, different styles in a kitchen seems odd to me,the farmers sink next to that ultra modern looking fridge??? Cool looking stove.

Craftsmanship looks top notch.
Very nice, what is that flooring in the living room, birch?

Dave
Yep, birch.

It was laid down where theres a 5 inch wide or so board, then the next board is 1.5 inches, then 5 again, its a very weird pattern Ive never seen anything like it.
Yeah, it looks like it's ready for lift off. Cool.
That sink is huge for not having a divider in it, plus I bet water will constantly get on the cabinets below it if they wash dishes like my wife does.

Nice house

Beautiful work. Everyone deserves a pat on the back when that many custom features come together.

There are a few design choices that stand out but there always is when a designer is calling the shots. This one shows promise being her first one. I would keep her happy, especially if she is willing to be "trained".

How do you like the way the stone and the wood meet at the front end of the island? Hard to tell from the pics if it flows well or not. That is something I would campaign against but if it works well here I may bite my tongue when it comes up.

Is any one freaking out about the dishwasher panels needing to catch up to the rest of the cabinets in color? They will get there, eventually. That is a tough sell sometimes when the job is at this stressful stage.

Nice work young man.:notworthy

Nice work.

'splain me this: Your profile says "Carpentry & Landscaping". If you do this type of interior work, what the hell are you doing landscaping?

It's like when I see "Joe Schmo Roofing and Custom Tile"....huh?
You need to send them some bulbs as a Christmas gift!

How come the serving counter thingy isn't soap stone?

Looks sweet.

Cuz there is a designer cutting teeth on this job, thats why. Come on, that should be obvious.

The bar top is a different stone, Im not sure what it is, and I dont have a good picture of it, but I love the looks of it. They have the same stone, as a border in the floors in the room on the other side of the glass doors.

It looks exactly like a realtree camo or something like that, gorgeous stone.

Gus, are you talking about the countertop on the island where the butcher block is? If so, I personally dont think it flows that well. If I can remember right its a 1" stone and a 1 1/4" butcher block with a notch around it for the stone to come under. I think it could have been either better thought out, or just leave it out and get a damn cutting board.

The dishwasher panels were hung yesterday, and the kitchen was installed a few months ago, thats why the color is so drastically different. The HO isnt living in the house, and the GC knows the difference so nobody has said anything yet.

Yeah that butcher block to stone will probably leak and cause problems but what I was referring to was where it transitions from the stone nosing to the wood as goes around to the front of the island. Seems as though the profiles don't match or something.

Still looks like a nice job. I'm just chasing down details that we all might look to avoid given the choice.

I have a way to handle that transition but if this one looks good i may give it a go at some point. Can you get a better picture of that someday?
