2 servers, any advantage?

1736 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  msteinhoff
I have two websites hosted by 2 different servers-2 different domains of course-same content-(along 15 forwarding domains)
I transfered my domains to a new registar and bought hosting as well, then I realize that I had already have 2 years of hosting from previous registar.
By having two hosts, is there any advantage that I can use to increase rankings?
Should I design a new content and add links to each other?Good or bad?
Thanks

Create a server script (if you could program) from one server to search access the other server' main page (or vice versa) through automatic Google searches... at least thousand times a day... then Google will automatically update/rank/push your automatic/server search terms upward, & most search number of occurrences accordingly (over other people searches) ...Voila`! :whistling
Multiple, Physical Hosts No Help

Number of physical hosts has no value, positive or negative, in terms of site rank. For redundancy, multiple, distributed hosts can be good. I doubt you need that level of reliability.

Any search rank improvements you could make with two separate, physical hosts can be accomplished on one physical host.

So, in short, I don't think having the extra provider will help in any meaningful way. Sorry.

Focus on Paying Customers, Not Internet Traffic

Yeah... About that... You can't improve your page rank by hammering your site with automated tools from a single IP address.

I'm even skeptical of tools such as Rank Enhancer which run queries through numerous open proxies to get around the single IP address problem.

Some people fail to recognize that web traffic is as much smoke and mirrors as it is meaningful data.

I have multiple physical hosts and 32 (CIDR/27) IP addresses. I could easily generate a million page views a day on any one of my web sites but that wouldn't raise my page rank or bring me any additional paying customers. And, really, at the end of the day, it is about paying customers, not internet traffic.

Cheers,
Matt
