Don’t get an oddball brand

 

That's a 40's or 50's look.

 

But "fancier" . 60's version of retro? I dunno

 

To me, 60's is acrylic handles on chrome. The stuff I'm always removing.

 

Pink/red is forties/fifties. Separate handles the same. Vinyl's got it right with "You pick, I install".

 

But that can be problematic when they pick and off brand. I used to have many customers who got their faucets from big box stores or Direct Buy Club and had plastic drains or leaked right out of the box.

99% of their stuff is right from China in unmarked boxes

 

Not my wheelhouse, but makes sense to let them hang themselves. On the other hand, warranting garbage is no bueno. Is no warranty a ting? I dunno

 

I have a customer who bought a flipped house for almost $2m, 2 years ago. Flipper told them all fixtures were high end. All fixtures and toilets were Ono, what pieces of crap from Amazon. All faucets have been replaced and almost all of the toilets. One lave faucet was leaking out of the hole where the pop up shaft goes through the faucet body, the sink had to be removed to change the faucet.

 

Is it a thing that the h o buys a fixture and you install it and only warranty the workmanship, not the fixture? Again, not my wheelhouse

 

I hate doing things twice even if I get paid twice
Customer has a Rohl bridge faucet ($1900) needs to be replaced again for the 3rd time in 12 years, I have been putting it off for months

 

If they think they can save a buck. But — they don’t know it would be cheaper for them
If I get it with my volume. Mark up time

i have several different plumbing supply house companies in my area .they all will advise in such situations . not like going to home depot or such .

 

There is no such thing as a 60s look faucet, just like there isn't a 2020s look faucet. What they THINK is a 60s look could be any number of things. Send them to a Ferguson showroom and give them a list of 4 or 5 acceptable brands.

We put an 11 dollar HD faucet in our master bath as a temporary solution while we worked on the place 10 years ago. Still going strong with well water and iron bacteria breakouts.

 

So if I do send the client to Ferguson what are the brands you guys would look for?

Delta and Moen would be at the top of my list, especially for the middle of the road stuff I’m usually doing. Maybe Hansgrohe for higher end? Kohler is usually solid too right? Anything else I should be considering?

 

Check out Delta's Cassidy collection with x95 cross handles (like a diverter handle is an H595, shower H795, etc.) I put some of those in recently and they look like what you're looking for. I'll try to dig up some photos.
