About 15yrs ago I worked on a high rise job and one of the finishers developed a tool and mud compound that would enable a you to tape, block and skim in 1 stroke. It used an infered eye to read the grain on the paper and duplicate it in the mud as it spread out. I would not have beleived it if I had not been there to see it. He had all the major players out to see it GP, United Gypsum, ect. about 2 months after he came in for the last time and said someone had bought his patent for the machine but he kept the patent on the mud, he proseeded to the 24th floor and tossed his fininshing tools off the roof and has not been seen since, not that I expected to see him again and can't even remember his name. I heard that he got 50 mil for the patent. I havent seen or heard of this machine and wounderd if anyone else has?
