Good Day Contractor Talk,
We have been general contractors for over twenty years in the US Virgin Islands. We have been quite successful with simple word of mouth marketting. But with the current state of the economy and more internet savy customers - it seems like its time to step it up...
There are several lead service websites, such as, service magic, angie list, and bid clerk just to name a few.
Can anyone recommend, say what site they have heard is good or are currently using is worth the money with good leads. Bid clerk, what do you think? Bid Alert, what do you think...
I just stumbled across this great site, and I think it is a great place to network, exchange ideas and possibly collaborate on jobs. So why not take it a step further. Facts on the internet are that from 100% only 2% truly matter, and to make it into the 2% takes more then a great site...
I just read a story that Texas this week will begin looking at websites hosted in their state and see if they are required to pay sales taxes for sales made to residents in that state. There are a couple of very large hosting firms there that may have a serious tax problem for their customers...
Anyone have experience or comments about low cost web hosts for web page?
I have heard complaints about some of the larger hosts being overwhelmed.
As a trial do not want to spend more than $5 to $10 a month, or is this a waste of money.
If there is a similar post, can you point me there?
I had my cousin design me a web site for a school project for my general contracting business in Connecticut. I've already noticed an increase in business and figured I'd just plug this here for all of you. If you don't have a web site up yet, do it. Best place to go it the IT department of a...

OK, since we have a new section for websites and SEOs, let's start it off with this:
I've gone over thread after thread after thread about what it takes to come up on the first page of a Google search.
With a bazillion posts with "You're an idiot and don't know what you're talking about...
I am trying to find anyone who has ever tried this and if so did it work? I was contacted by a guy who says he can get me the top ten listing in Google for the local search by the map. I wanted to get there but never know how he also is very affordable, one time small fee, but I don't know if...
