  1. Historical Restoration
I've heard mold is the worst, the most deadly deal-breaker when it comes to restoring an old property. If it's got mold, it's not worth it. Is this true? Is there any way to get rid of mold on, say, an old structure with a lead roof, hardwood latticework and clay-mud plaster?

I have a mat sandpaper stain on my varnished hardwood floor. What is the best way to fix it? Polishing and varnishing a small aerea where it is or using some type of repair product?

Wondering if anywhere here has any experience with Easiklip floating solid hardwood flooring? I've done some digging and it appears it has been out in Europe and Asia for quite some time, but is new here in North America. It's a T&G system with little clips that hold the boards together...

I just started a small front porch here in town. The old one was a small brick one, that was crumbling. The HO's just had their basement waterproofed and the old porch was in the way. The HO had the foresight to leave the old concrete steps in place though. I had my first meeting with them...

I am interested in upgrading my companies dust containment systems. We currently use the CAV26 units, but need something with more power. I like the power the Bona trailer offers, but I don't think I want to haul around a trailer. I also don't want to drag a vacuum around in the house. I am...

I am planning to install hardwood floor by myself. I am using 2 ½ by ¾ inch red oak. I have two questions regarding this subject. 1. For Massachusetts climate should I use nails as oppose to staples? I did some online browsing and people seem to be split 50/50 for nail Vs. staple...

I've been looking at both types of flooring staplers. Can you install 3/8 engineered with the Bostitch MIIIFS? I know the SENCO SLS20HF flooring stapler will install the engineered, but will the bigger Bostitch install both 3/4 solid goods and 3/8 engineered?

Howdy, folks! I'm a Pacific NW supplier of electric radiant heat. I have been at this a while, living in a comfort zone of installing under tile. Now I'm trying to bring some solutions to my customers who want to install under laminate, vinyl, and hardwood. So I'm asking the experts how they get...

Hi, guys. I am a radiant heat component supplier, and I am trying to get a better insight on how these products are actually installed. Specifically, I am looking at installing under non-tile surfaces. Hardwood, laminate, vinyl. In Europe they are using a 1/4" thick Extruded Polystyrene...

In a recent remodel, we removed a wall to open up a room. The new added area has a slab concrete floor which is about 1.5" lower than the osb sub-floor. We would like to continue the existing 1/2" sand-finish, nail down hardwood flooring into the new space. I am not sure of the best method...
