I agree. We use it all the time. We have spot primed with it and we have sprayed it on out to 40 mils. I think it's a great product. You can't build the Zinnser product any more than 4 mils.

For latex paint I just use water to run it...

For latex paint I just use water to run it through an HVLP. For oil I will use Mineral spirits for spraying and Penetrol for brushing.

Back-rolling is used primarily to work the primer into the substrate you are spraying. Drywall is very porous and if you spray the first coat of primer on without back-rolling it will just sit on top...
