I also use a palm nailer b/c it fits nearly anywhere. I know the strap is faster and if I did more decks I would probably get a strap. I am amazed at how often I found a use for the palm.

I've used the screen tight system a couple of times. Rather costly but very simple to use. IMO it is not the most attractive system but does make replacing screens a snap.

I know that murphy's cleaner will remove sap but it is oil based. Not sure of that will cause spotting on the Ipe'. You may also try nail polish remover, that stuffs takes out everything.
