If i think of it ,I order microlam for the ridge, they are usualy straiter and i can buy up to 40' 1 piece no problem. Rim boards from my suppliers only com 12'long .

Call an engineer.Here in north jersey, you would be looking at about $200-$300 You will be able to sleep at night and it removes any liability from yourself.Well worth the $$
