Artisanstone addressed the concerns with the 1/8" joints and 4" backup, so not really. Just observing something new to me.

Still trying to determine if the boxes are in fact on top of each...

I was checking that out as well. Never liked the split fire brick, and now to combine them with cut flue liners? I am going to have to mull that one over a while to decide if it meets safety...
