Predrilled to get all the junk out. clamp together and screw it with grk 3 1/8 #8 trim screws. Screws heads are sprayed with regular brown paint. Primer/ paint from rust o leum.

A regular 5/46 doesn't cover 2-5/4 and 2x4 wall. In theory you think yes but pt is never true and 5 1/2 is more like 5 3/8.
I ripped one at 5" and other at 2". Just screwed it...
