You had a lazy inspector in Pinellas county not to look on the roof. Depending on the municipality there is 2-3 inspections required on a re-roof in the 5 counties I deal with on a consistent basis.

Permits are a joke in FL. Even if you get one no inspector will walk onto a roof and check to see if the required "cricket" was installed above a chimney and properly flashed. I bet your did not have...
