With the exception of a splatter texture any rolled on or knife applied texture should cover. I've done it over concrete block and totally 100% covered it??? I've done it over paint flaked ceilings...

clean them immediately after use and NEVER do i soak a knife in water.
I use a small sharp 3" to scrape the other ones clean at the end of the day. I wouldn't want to get any type of lubricants...
