I don't understand. Shouldn't warranty work, as well as tool repair, be part of your overall costs? And as business owners, shouldn't you know how to incorporate those costs into your pricing...

Put a voltage recording meter on that circuit. You may have an intermittent open neutral (either in a MWBC or the entire service) that causes voltage spikes.
