From the picture that I see, it looks as if you are drawing all the air from the hallway,and the side. It doesn't help that the furnace is in the middle of everything, inside of the living space.

R410 is relatively cheap here, and Nu-22 isn't so bad either. Why somebody wouldn't use Nu-22 instead of R-22, baffles me. If they are going to remove the refrigerant (R-22), it's a no-brainer.
