They are rated by strength, shrinkage, and sandability if I remember right. Blue dot taping mud is the strongest and is only recomended for taping. They rate all their muds and you choose that way....

Redmann is right on the code. 8" on butt joints and 12" otherwise. We only use nails on the perimeter and only screws in the feild. I personally think using 3" screws is a waste of time and money....

It is a pain tripping on them (hoses) sometimes but they don't slow you down especially if you are used to using apla tech anyway but even the boxes are faster because you don't walk balk and forth...
