From the picture that I see, it looks as if you are drawing all the air from the hallway,and the side. It doesn't help that the furnace is in the middle of everything, inside of the living space.

True, a 4" hole, is not sexy, nor is dryer venting, or a nice pvc run. What I have tried to do, is take picture of me, or the guys working. Maybe an interaction between the customer and one of us....

Black wire to b terminal on the stat, is likely the issue. When there is a call for heat, the b terminal is hot.... Rheem / Ruud gear energizes the Reversing valve in heat mode, thus the b terminal....

Too early, or too late? the lesser of the two evils?

I hate it when we say, dinner is at seven-ish, and then somebody shows up a half hour too early. Drives me crazy. To those who emphasize timeliness, be aware, that on-time doesn't mean early.
