Personally, this is the best skill saw I've ever used. The saw guide is probably the best one available on the market. The saw itself is quite light. It's durable, and performs great in all conditions. For some, the price point might seem a bit expensive for a skill saw, but considering the amount that I use one, I want to be making cuts with what feels like the best saw in my hand. For me, definitely worth the extra dollars.
I've used a friend's a couple times while helping him build some storage buildings. As soon as my cheap Skil saw burns up this is on the to buy list. Lightweight and very accurate.
I've had the largest Milwaulkee, a couple of Bosch, a couple more.
I'm very pleased with this Makita Mag. As a remodeler I'm always in different positions. This saw can go where I go. Powerful and lightweight. Good Mag table helps with accuracy when others are going to composite tables.
This is my current saw. I've owned the Milwaukee Tilt-Lock (stolen), a Porter Cable (dropped and broken), a Rigid worm-drive (MIA) and a Bosch or two. I really like this saw.
It has an always on LED that will surprise you if/when you are working really early or too late. I first noticed it on a remodel when cutting in a poorly lit room. It really helps to see the cut line.
It has done everything well that I needed it to do. I don't frame anymore, but if I did I would use this as my go to saw. Cutting rafters and stair stringers are a breeze with this machine.

Have owned multiple Bosch saws, and others, and now multiple Makitas. These are the most accurate cutting saws I have ever used, making bevel cuts, rafters, etc, much easier and faster.
