I just saw the HD ad in this weekends paper and saw what was advertised as a "headless pin nailer"

Is this a 23g pinner? I was never aware ridgid made one. Anyone have any experience with one? Pricing seems to be on par with the PC and Bostich

i own the rigid and love it, mind you its not a grex or cadex but still works great. it shoots up to a 1 3/8" nail, its almost identical to the older porter cable other than it shoots a longer nail the pc only shoots 1". i havent used a bostich .

the only issue i have is that most shops have jacked up the price of the nails for the things by like 300 %, i used to be able to get a 3000 pack of 1" nails for 4.50, now all the shops want between $11-14 for the pc nails, a pack of cadex nails runs about $16

yep, same here
I went from paying about $30 for 3000 finish nails to now they want $30 for 1000 finish nails.

last week I ordered online from a fastener shop and got 8000- 2 1/2", and about 60,000 -1 1/4" brads for $150

and IMO all Ridgid guns are ****, I've got the finish and the brad nailer.
they never make it out of the trailer.
Hitachi guns are the best IMO

for a micro pinner it works great, but ridgid definitely cant compare to hitachi or paslode. i use alot of hitachi nailers which are pretty beaten up but still work. the framers work amazing but our ring nailers jam up all the time when putting on harti. the newer hitachi stuff doesnt seem to be nearly as good as the old both in performance and durability

I used one Rigid finish nailer for a few days and it sucked. Didn't hold as many nails as other nailers and even with it set as deep as possible, it still wouldn't set all the nails below the surface. I took it back and got something else. That would make me not excited to buy a Rigid pin nailer. I've had a Senco for years and it works great. It's never jammed on me.

ive had this problem with my new bosch 18 gauge, it only sinks about 50% of the nails and thats with teh depth adjust turned all the way up,

as for that fastener site, those prices are amazing!!! any issues with their nails jamming up guns at all? ive run into that in the past where cheap nails were jamming every two seconds and ended up wrecking the gun. well prob start buying through them. we have been paying $260 canadian for a small pack of 15 gauge 2 1/2" stainless nails, and $29 per coil of 2" stainless for the ring nailer

Thanks for the info everyone. I stopped in the local depot to check one out and they dont even have it on display. I guess the stores didnt catch up with the corporate advertising yet. Ill let everyone know how it looks when I find one

nails shoot fine, shot a few thousand so far and no issues

I like the Bostich pinner, seems better built that most of their guns, paid $99. I also have a toolmart airlocker pinner[1 3/16" max], that is a good value and works great except for the bulky safety. their corrugated stapler is a super value too. CS is excellent . They do sell at amazon and sometimes the price their is better but if you call they will give you the best price they offer.

$59

Mike thanks for the link, I was looking for some coil siding nails their selection and price is the best I have seen.

Ditto on the brad nailers. Ive had one thats worked better than my hitachi and senco for the last 4 years.

Ive never bought anyother rigid pneumatics so i would not likely recommend anything else other than the 18 gauge.

I also have their 1/4" crown stapler...no issues. Has a little bit of recoill when driving 1 1/2" staples tho....

I buy my 23 awg pins from Harbor Freight..... 6,000 packs for 3-4 bucks. They sell 1/2, 5/8, 3/4 and 1. They seem to work fine in my H.F. pinners.
