Any ideas how to attach a wood stud to a steel square pipe? I'm guessing that the steel post thickness is 3/16ths???
:thumbsup:Not sure what your main objective is, but shooting it with a powder actuated fastener will work for most applications. Just use the proper load and the proper length of nail. In my experience, it generally takes the most powerful load and I find the length of fastener to be about an 1/2 inch longer that the depth of material you're shooting through. You should find instructions from the manufacturer with or on the box the gun comes in.
Jeff G is correct about the powder actuated fastener, aka Ramset. However, since you are asking such a basic question suggests that you are fairly inexperienced. Be very careful w/the Ramset type tools. Not knowing what you are doing could cause you very serious injury.Any ideas how to attach a wood stud to a steel square pipe? If it's just being burried in a wall, why attach to it at all? Thanks for the replys. We are framing a couple of non load bearing walls. The HO has a 3"x3" steel square post that they want concealed within the new wall.
