What are you using for a rack there? I saw something similar the other day and was intrigued.
Made my own, downsized the ones I made for rotating Pantera restorations years ago. I made these long before the commercial ones were available.

Uni-Strut for the frame, welded up the head using the smaller strut, some pipe and nuts for spacers, the head support is a beam clamp.

Very clever. I've made a ton of things like this, but none so elegant.
 
I've run into that same thing with the grain showing after sanding. If I'm working on MDF doors or even skirting and need a smooth finish, I check out mdfskirtingworld.co.uk—they do decent pre-primed stuff that doesn't soak paint unevenly. That helped me cut down on sanding and touch-ups. For existing doors, I just hit them with a decent primer first, then two light coats of trim paint.
