Have a customer with real wooden shutters. 3 pairs are rotting and need replacement. Where are you guys ordering your shutters? I haven't done wood shutters in over 10 years. Also wondering if they make the same thing in pvc.

Got them at the lumberyard, solid wood, and then the painter went to town two coats of primer two coats of finish, if it’s a real wood, technically it’s installed backwards, so when it’s closed, it prevents water from hitting the window.
My client laughed and said she wanted it only partially authentic😂
I also made shutters once and never again
7 ft high 2 1/2 ft wide louvered shutters. 6 of them for 100 year old house
And the painter only painted the front side
He was dragged back kicking and screaming to do it right
We made 1 set of louvered because they were so narrow, 8" I think. Full day to make 1 set and then paint, silly. One place online they were about $700 for pvc and $500 for cedar. Price seems in line just not sure what I'm getting until it shows up.

The PVC ones are in stock at Home Depot/Lowes/Menards etc.
I remove them permanently from every house I've ever owned because they are a magnet for Yellow Jacket nests.
