This is a reading nook I just finished up for some clients with young kids. This is in their basement, it was just an empty space before. They are getting custom cushions for the "daybeds" on either side of the desk. And yes, I still have a couple outlet covers to install.

I don't usually have much to say that somebody else hasn't already said, I guess.
One thing I expect they're going to regret is not going with drawers under the daybeds. The daybeds are 38" deep, those cabinets are going to be a black hole halfway back. That was entirely their decision, a cost cutting measure. Maybe I'll hear from them next year to take off the doors and build/install full length drawers instead.Looks great...
Just wonder if it's one of those things the parents HOPE they use because they envisioned it... guess time will tell...

Yep! Double hung drawers under those beds will be a great addition.

Amazing work
Yes, the USB outlets were my idea. I suggested to them the ones with type C and the older type on one outlet for flexibility. There are 3, one above the desk and one in the side of each pony wall facing the daybeds so the kids can plug in devices. That's also where the (dimming) switches are for the sconces.
Fun detail, I included 4 hidden compartments. Homeowner said she's not telling the kids and is going to hide Christmas presents in them.
