Make sure you do a good job cementing all the seams, paint your red guard like the guy suggested do your tile with either a Schlueter edge or bullnose, once you’ve completed your grout, run some blue tape against the tile and skim coat any rough edges leading up to the tile and you should be in good shape!
 
I bought John Bridges book for tilers a while ago and he shows you some real world jobs, techniques ect ...all of which you may never see anyone do sadly. I was doing it to the letter, with fleece inside corners aqua dense etc ...time doesn't always permit for one and two the time ends up a wash with Wedi
 
I've done that quite a bit- run the tile backer out to a stud, and mud back to the tile. I run a strip of non-stick synthetic flashing behind the tile board, and turn it out to the surface where the sheetrock butts to the tile board. This keeps moisture from wicking into the SR. Not a big fan of Redguard as a primary waterproof.
