Hello,
I am currently remodeling my bathroom to install a new bathtub and tile around the bathtub. I installed cement board around the bathtub as you can see in the pictures. I plan on running the tile to the edges of the bathtub.
I ran the cement board out a little past the bathtub on both sides of the tub. Can I add some skim coats of drywall mud over the cement board and then paint it so it runs right into the drywall? Or would I be better off cutting out these couple inches of cement board that stick out past the bathtub and installing a section of water resistant drywall that begins exactly where I want the painted wall and tile to intersect?
I don’t even know if it’s possible to paint over this cement board. Any advice on how this transition from cement board around the tub to the drywall is typically done by the pros would be greatly appreciated.
