I have to cut some downspout leads in order to get them above what will be final grade and have enough room for the collector/adapter to my underground piping.
I attempted a cut today with a reciprocating saw and an 18 tpi blade. It did not go very well, the particular issue is the point where the seam is. Once I hit that joint I thought I would rip the whole thing off of the house.
I have a variety of tools, I was thinking a grinder with a cut off wheel or the Fein multi tool. I have an 8" metal cutting saw but that won't cut full depth, or get into the places where the downspouts are, at inside corners. I have to shorten nine of these in the next few days.
Take a look at the pics and give me some ideas. Taking down, cutting and reinstalling the downspouts is not an option that I want to be responsible for. They are all color match riveted together. I don't want to be up on a ladder fooling with all that nonsense.
