Being I've been swinging the T-bone for over 15 years I had to try out the M-1 from Martinez Tool Co.

I haven't had a chance to swing the M-1 yet but here are some preliminary observations.

The M-1 is slightly shorter, has a shorter head to claw distance, and a higher center of gravity. The center of gravity is the larger concern being it changes the feel considerably.

Both tools are superbly made.

The Martinez has an improved head. Stilleto heads tend to shear the bolt, wear out the original rubber washer, and turn out of alignment reducing the ability to use the nail holder.

I'll add further comments as I have infield use.

granted i can no longer really call myself a framer, but i've had t-i bones for awhile.

on mike's recommendation i tried the martinez.

i like it better & it feels better to swing it.

let a couple of real pro framers try it out and they preferred it to the t-i bones....

but this is why there is ford, chevy & dodge....

That's the only part that I liked better. I gave it an honest try for 6 months and went back to my Stiletto.
I think I'll be in the same boat. I dislike the "top" heavy feel of any hammer. But, this is coming from a guy that was out driving guys with my 12 oz finish hammer. I'll be choking the Martinez and/or changing my swing dynamics.

The Stilleto has better reach overall.

I'm not sure its better or worse thing. I think that it's going to boil down to what you're used to. I didn't go from T-Bone to a Martinez. In fact the last time I really framed I think I was using a Cal Framer. The weight ratio wasn't too far from the Martinez.
