I have a pm72 and love it. Unisaw is a baby by comparison. 7.5hp vs 3hp... You'll have to buy new blades because the 1" arbor but it's well worth it when you throw a 12" full kerf blade on it and fire it up. 500 is definitely a good price. I bought mine for a little less and had to put quite a bit of work into getting the table back to suitable and had to buy another rail.

(Didn't look at the ad but just what the specs are on mine... Looks painted but that isn't a problem, I painted mine black.)

I look at like it this. If it was in excellent working order and I could bring it home and plug it in, then that's a hekuva deal. But I imagine it's well used, and I'm not set up for 3-phase. So, it certainly would be worth the investment, and an awesome saw once set up. But I'm not sure it's worth the investment for me.

I don't need this saw to make a living. I just have an affinity for the older American made woodworking equipment. Of course I'm going to go look at it, right now.

If I am wanting a big saw, I would rather have something heavy, all cast iron saw.

I think you're right, but at that price I could have put it to use until something awesomer came along. Then could have flipped it.

Sooner or later, something will show up. It's not like I actually need one.

Your Whitney would have been perfect, but couldn't swing it.

If I ever win the lottery, well, you've been warned.
